I’m Svenja Bickert-Appleby.
I am a strategic and creative visionary.
As a designer I see change as a design process.
And this change must be designed consciously.
As a innovation consultant I sensitize decision-makers in companies and institutions to the influence of their professional decisions on shaping our society.
Researching, I deal with transformation processes from the perspective of a designer and look at how you can actively help shape social transformation.
By raising awareness of the diverse design levels, I open up new perspectives and thus the decisive opportunities to reflect on materials, products, services (systems), organizations and world views and to think about them in a new and different way.
I’m giving the impetus to make decisions differently starting tomorrow and to illustrate the effects of our decisions. – Because we all shape our world – with every concept that we develop, with every decision we make and with our daily behavior.

I help teams and decision makers in public and private organizations to come up with new and improve existing strategies, products, services & business models. Working on products and innovation and with teams in organizations always touches organizational change, if not, how can it be meaningful? How can it be sustainable?
A big change I see for organisations and their product offerings, as well as their business-models is the vision of a circular economy and circular society, which go hand in hand. I consult organisations working with materials such as paper, plastic, textiles and start-ups coming up with new products. I believe we should be living in circular cities. I founded start-ups myself – circular businesses – as prototypes to bring about the change I want to see in the world.
I’m thinking a lot about meaningful change, transformation, design, innovation & entrepreneurship and sometimes I write about it and publish it or I talk about it. Here you can find several topics I talk about and examples of the speaking and writing I have done.
